India’s semiconductor journey is moving ahead at full speed! At SEMICON India 2025, several important partnerships and initiatives were announced. These will help the country build stronger chip-making, design, research, and talent ecosystems.

1. Tata Electronics + Merck MoU
Merck will support Tata’s new semiconductor fab at Dholera, Gujarat. The focus will be on:
- Materials and infrastructure
- Supply chain solutions
- Safety, talent, and global standards
This will boost India’s self-reliance in chip-making.
2. Tata Electronics + C-DAC MoU
This partnership will strengthen India’s chip design and IP (Intellectual Property) ecosystem. It will support:

3. Kaynes Semicon + SPARSH-IQ, 3rdiTech, Focally & SenseSemi
Together, they will develop India’s first fully indigenous AI vision solution for automotive and industrial use.
- Camera modules designed and built entirely in India
- Less import dependence, more domestic IP
4. Kaynes Semicon + Infineon
India’s first Made-in-India MEMS Microphone for wireless earbuds and wearables was launched.
- Also packaging Infineon’s power wafers in India
- Supports renewable energy, industrial, and consumer electronics sectors.
5. L&T Semicon + IIT Gandhinagar & C-DAC
They will develop a secure chip with a smart operating system for:
- e-Passports
- National IDs
- Cryptographic security products
6. L&T Semicon + IISc Bangalore
A new National Innovation Hub for Semiconductors & Quantum Tech will be built.
- Combines advanced research and fabrication with industry expertise
- Aimed at next-gen R&D.
7. Indiesemic (Gujarat)
A woman co-led domestic startup launched the IoT Evolution Board powered by C-DAC’s VEGA processor.

8. NIELIT + Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA)
A partnership to boost semiconductor skilling and industry-academia linkages.
