Under his leadership, the conglomerate expanded globally, acquiring high-profile companies such as Corus, Jaguar Land Rover, and Tetley. His tenure transformed Tata Group into a global powerhouse with annual revenues exceeding $100 billion.

Ratan Tata was not just a business magnate but also a philanthropist. He ensured that a significant portion of Tata Group’s profits were directed towards charitable causes through the Tata Trusts. His vision of combining business success with social responsibility set a benchmark for corporate governance in India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described Ratan Tata as a visionary leader and an extraordinary human being. The current chairman of Tata Sons, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, called him a “truly uncommon leader” whose legacy will continue to inspire.
