Federal Agents Raid Properties Linked to Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs

Federal Agents Sean Diddy

Federal agents raided properties connected to hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs on Monday as part of an ongoing investigation. The Department of Homeland Security pursued these law enforcement actions in New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. Two properties in Los Angeles and Miami were searched as part of the probe.

While the reasons for the raids were not specified, they come in the wake of several recent lawsuits accusing Mr. Combs of sexual misconduct. His attorneys have previously denied all allegations made against him.

One of the properties raided was a 17,000 square foot mansion in the wealthy Los Angeles neighborhood of Holmby Hills, where Mr. Combs announced his latest album release last September. The mansion is associated with Mr. Combs’ Bad Boy Films production company.

Two law enforcement officials told the Associated Press that the raids were part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation. However, this has not been independently confirmed by the BBC.

Last year, R&B singer Cassie, whose full name is Casandra Ventura, filed a lawsuit in New York federal court against Mr. Combs, alleging years of abuse. She had dated Mr. Combs between 2005 and 2018 and later settled the lawsuit with him. Since then, two other women and a man have come forward accusing Mr. Combs of sexual misconduct.

Douglas Wigdor, lawyer for Ms. Ventura and another alleged victim, expressed support for the law enforcement efforts. “Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct,” Mr. Wigdor said in a statement.

Despite the controversy, Mr. Combs remains one of the most influential hip-hop producers of the past several decades. He is the founder of Bad Boy Records and a three-time Grammy winner who has worked with A-list artists like Usher and Mary J Blige.
