The attacker entered the Westfield Bondi Junction mall around 3:20 p.m. local time and began stabbing people with a weapon, believed to be a knife. New South Wales Police Commissioner Anthony Cooke stated that the attacker “caused harm” to about nine people.

As she pursued him, the offender turned, and the officer shot him. Anthony Cooke praised her actions, stating, “She took the action, saving a range of people’s lives.”
