Delhi High Court Grants Travel Permission to Ashneer Grover and Madhuri Jain

Ashneer Grover Madhuri Jain Travel Permission

In a recent news, the Delhi High Court has granted permission to BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, a former HR director at the payments firm, to travel to the United States of America (USA) separately.

The couple had sought the court’s permission to travel abroad for their children’s summer school. The court heard the case on May 22, with Justice Subramonium Prasad presiding.

According to the court proceedings, Ashneer Grover will depart for the USA on May 26 and return to India on June 14. Madhuri Jain will embark on her journey on June 15 and is scheduled to return on July 1.

Justice Prasad indicated that he would pass a detailed order on May 24, once the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) provides the conditions for the couple’s overseas travel.

During the hearing, the court urged the EOW to be reasonable with such requests and not contest them unless there is a clear apprehension of flight risk.

Previously, the EOW had objected to the plea, citing that the couple owned properties abroad and posed a flight risk. The EOW also mentioned that the investigation against them was at an advanced and crucial stage. It claimed that the couple, especially Madhuri Jain, was not cooperating in the investigation and that they had discovered suspicious transactions worth crores.

This ruling marks a significant development in the ongoing investigation against the couple. It remains to be seen how this overseas travel will impact the case’s proceedings and the couple’s standing in the investigation.
