Manor Lords – A Million Copies Sold in a Day

Manor Lords Million Copies Sold

In the world of gaming, anticipation often translates into success. This was proven true once again with the launch of Manor Lords, a historical city-builder game that has taken the gaming community by storm.

Manor Lords was placed on over three million wishlists on Steam before its launch, setting high expectations for its performance. The game did not disappoint. On Saturday, April 27, just a day after its launch, the game’s publisher, Hooded Horse, announced on their official X (formerly Twitter) account that Manor Lords had already sold over one million copies.

The game didn’t just make waves in terms of sales. It also hit a peak Steam concurrent player count of 170,000, the highest ever for a city builder game. This number is expected to rise over the weekend, indicating the game’s immense popularity among players.

Manor Lords quickly shot up to the top of the Steam sales charts upon its release as an Early Access title. It also topped the sales charts at the Epic Games Store and reached number two on GoG.com.

The game is available at no additional cost for Microsoft’s PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. Players who purchased the game on Steam or have a PC Game Pass subscription can also play it on the Nvidia GeForce Now cloud gaming service.

Hooded Horse has priced Manor Lords at $39.99, but it is currently available at a discounted price of $29.99. In a post on Steam, the CEO of Hooded Horse, Tim Bender, reassured potential buyers that there would be plenty of opportunities to purchase the game at a discount in the future.

Looking ahead, Greg Styczeń, the creator of Manor Lords, and Hooded Horse plan to work on an Xbox console version of the game “as soon as possible”. This move is likely to expand the game’s reach and continue its impressive run of success.

In conclusion, Manor Lords’ remarkable performance in just a day since its launch underscores the game’s quality and the effective anticipation-building strategy employed by its creator and publisher. It serves as a testament to the potential of well-crafted games to achieve tremendous success in a short span of time.
